MH4HRM Moves Forward: Successful Meeting in Athens Sets the Stage for Pilot Phase
The MH4HRM project (Mental Health Toolkit for Human Resources Managers in the Workforce), co-funded by the Erasmus+ programme, continues to make significant strides in supporting mental well-being at work. Following a productive transnational project meeting held on 20–21 May in Athens, the consortium is now preparing to launch the pilot phase of its innovative training and digital toolkit.
Over the past months, the consortium – composed of seven organisations from Spain, Croatia, Italy, Greece, and Portugal – has worked intensively on the development of a comprehensive e-learning programme tailored to the needs of HR professionals. This 60-hour course is designed to enhance the capacity of HR teams to detect, manage and prevent work-related stress, burnout and other psychosocial risks. The training modules cover key areas such as mental health promotion in the workplace, stress factors and consequences, technical and soft skills, and strategies for intervention.
In addition to the training content, the project is producing a range of interactive tools to reinforce learning and engagement. These include a user-friendly e-learning platform, microlearning videos, a dedicated mobile app for workers’ mental health, and a podcast series featuring expert insights and good practices.
The recent meeting in Athens was hosted by ELINYAE (Hellenic Institute for Occupational Health and Safety) and provided a platform to finalise Work Package 2, present the training materials and discuss the next steps under Work Package 3. Discussions focused on the design of the pilot phase, including the selection of companies, the definition of key performance indicators, and strategies for data collection and impact assessment.
The pilot phase is expected to begin in the coming months, allowing HR professionals in selected companies across Europe to test the toolkit and provide valuable feedback on its usability, relevance and impact.
The following consortia meetings will support the refinement of the toolkit and prepare for broader dissemination and sustainability efforts.
MH4HRM addresses a critical gap in corporate training: the lack of structured and practical resources for HR managers to proactively foster mental health in the workplace. As the project progresses, it reaffirms the central role of HR departments in creating healthy, inclusive and resilient work environments.
